Day 232

I tried drawing in marker again, but ran out of ink not long after I started! Grrr.

Day 231: Permanent

"Some things don't last forever, but some things do. Like a good song, or a good book, or a good memory you can take out and unfold in your darkest times. pressing down on the corners and peering in close, hoping you still recognize the person you see there."
-Sarah Dessen, This Lullaby

I decided to try drawing with a marker for the first time today. I love the way ink drawings look (whether it's pen, sharpie, marker, etc.) but, obviously, there's no erasing any mistakes, which is why I usually just use pencil. I enjoyed drawing in marker, though!

Day 227: Marina & the Diamonds

"I know exactly what I want and who I want to be,
I know exactly why I walk and talk like a machine"
-Marina and the Diamonds, "Oh No"

I've just started listening to Marina and the Diamonds recently, and I love them! They remind me a lot of Lana Del Rey, who is also one of my favorite artists recently.

Day 223: Lines

"A drawing is simply a line going for a walk."
-Paul Klee

I've been trying a new style of sketching lately- less realistic and more about the lines. I've been using a thinner tipped pencil so that that lines are visible. It's kind of modeled after this style (this is not my drawing):

I think the visible pencil strokes is really artsy looking, and a fun style .
