Erin, great adventurer of the sketchy seas, sets out on a whirlwind journey to produce at least one sketch every day for 1 YEAR! Each week will bring a new sketching theme and, hopefully, some improvement in my drawing capabilities.

Day 134: Just some lame doodles
I didn't have time to really draw anything today, so I just doodled for a bit. I also didn't want to go all the way back to my room to use the scanner, so I just used my phone to take a picture. Totally boring... I know.

Day 132: First Flower
"A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, and man cannot live without love."
-Max Muller
My mom sent me a picture today of the first flower to bloom in the garden at home...hence this drawing. It's done entirely in pastels this time.

Day 130: Sleeping
"The bed is a bundle of paradoxes: we go to it with reluctance, yet we quit it with regret; we make up our minds every night to leave it early, but we make up our bodies every morning to keep it late."
-Charles Caleb Colton
This quote could not be more true! I think this is the reason that I dread sleeping so much; the whole process is such a tease! Anyways, I only spent a few minutes drawing a quick sketch of something that I sketch all the time...but at least I've done something.

Day 129: Standing Still
"All I want is to stand in a field
and to smell green,
to taste air,
to feel the earth want me,
Without all this concrete
hating me."
-Phillip Pulfrey
I can't remember if I've said it yet this week, but this week's theme is standing still. I used pencil and pastlels for today's drawing. I've been trying to practice with drawing entire bodies rather than just faces lately.

Day 128: Eyes Open
"He who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe is as good as dead; his eyes are closed."
-Albert Einstein
I guess I just felt like playing with the pastels today...
